- Conroe is a city located in Montgomery County, Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area and is situated 45 miles North of Houston, Texas found in East Texas. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city had a total population of 36,811. Conroe is the county seat of Montgomery County.

The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.33.
