the 2000 census, it had a total population of 17,823.

even though the Village of Scarsdale is coterminous
with the Town of Scarsdale. It is one of several villages

children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.8%
are married couples living together, 5.0% have a female
householder with no husband present, and 11.8% are non-families.

6.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age
or older. The average household size is 3.14 and the
average family size is 3.35.

25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who are 65
years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For
