About Schaumburg - Schaumburg is a village located in Cook County and DuPage County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 75,386.

The village has the headquarters of Motorola. One of only two IKEA stores in Illinois is in Schaumburg, next to the gigantic Woodfield Mall, the second largest mall in America in terms of shopping area. The village is also the home of the Schaumburg Flyers, a Northern League baseball team whose ballpark, Alexian Field, is located near the Elgin O'Hare Expressway.

The average household size is 2.36 and the average family size is 3.07.

In the village the population is spread out with 21.9% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 36.3% from 25 to 44, 24.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.9 males.
