Georgia, but also occupying significant portions of Bryan County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census,
the base had a total population of 11,205. Its main residents are members of the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division.
The Fort Stewart United States Army base includes land that was formerly the town of Clyde, Georgia.
