population of 44,265.
Like neighboring Salinas in Monterey County, Watsonville
produces a variety of fruits and vegetables, primarily
strawberries, blackberries, and table mushrooms. Martinelli's,
the renowned maker of sparkling apple cider is headquartered
there, as are Driscoll's Strawberries, Well-Pict Berries,
Granite Construction and West Marine Products.
